Heute: In der Tierhandlung

Jane:
"Hey, how are you doing, I am looking for a pet carrier. I saw something online, Sherpa I reckon it was... not sure..."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"Hey! I am doing great, how are you today? It's so smoky outside. Do you have a dog?"

Jane:
"No, a cat."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"Ma'am, just follow me in the back, we got some kennels right there."

Jane:
"I was looking for something soft. I'm gonna take the cat to Germany and she'll be in the cabin."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"To Germany! Oh I wanna go so bad!"

Jane:
"Yeah, we all do. Do you know more about the sizes?"

Petstoregirliegirl:
"Mmmh, I don't know... where are the sizes..."

Jane:
"I was also thinking about a leash since they might take her out for customs."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"Hihi! Can't be running around like that, right? Hey, I really have to ask you a question, I hope that's alright?!"

Jane:
"Go ahead."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"I really need to go to Germany soon. And I was asking myself how it is down there because I am looking for something."

Jane:
"Well, what are you looking for?"

Petstoregirliegirl:
"I think you have those white tigers there, don't you?"

Jane:
"Uhm. I am not sure if we have white tigers in Germany. Are we talking about animals?"

Petstoregirliegirl:
"Yeah! Yeah! Do you think I should go and find them? I think maybe in the East..."

Jane:
"I don't know about East Germany now but you can sure come and take a look. Maybe you'll find a zoo... but you know what. I don't think we have white tigers in Germany."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"I have to go and check it out. I heard that they are very common in Asia. And Germany is pretty close, right?"

Jane:
"Yeah. It's, uhm, pretty close. I guess I have everything I need. Thanks for helping me out."

Petstoregirliegirl:
"No problem, Ma'am, and come back and see us!"

Der Freund:
"I wanna go to the flea market."

Jane:
"I once bought a really nice jacket at the flea market. That jacket was awesome."

Freund:
"I wanna buy some stuff there."

Jane:
"What do you want?"

Freund:
"Don't know. Some cool stuff. And I want to see the chicken. There's a chicken playing Tic Tac Toe."

Jane:
"What chicken?"

Freund (abgeklärt):
"The chicken in the box."

Jane (verwirrt):
"Somebody dressed up as a chicken?"

Freund:
"Nobody's dressed up, it's a real chicken. And he's a good chicken cause he plays Tic Tac Toe. He's in a box. When you pay a Dollar the chicken comes out and plays the game. You win a hundred Dollars if you can beat the chicken."

Jane (ungläubig):
"Say what? You are crazy. There is no chicken like that."

Freund:
"There sure is. I seen it! And it's here in Florida, too, Charlie at work told me about it. And he said 'You probably don't believe me' and I said 'I do cause I seen it'. And you know what else: I played three times and always lost."

Jane (ausufernd):
"Hahahahaha! Against the chicken!"

Freund (unbeeindruckt):
"Everybody there lost. That's why that guy with the chicken earns money like crazy. And when it's a tie, you don't win either."

Jane:
"Why not? At least it's a tie. You should get your Dollar back."

Freund:
"But it's a chicken! Don't you get it?"

Schweigen.

Freund:
"So you better watch out cause the chicken always wins."

Schweigen.

Jane:
"Why is it a male chicken?"

Freund:
"What?"

Jane:
"You say 'he' all the time. That chicken's female. If not it's a rooster."

Freund:
"Oh whatever."

Heute: Der Überfall

Das Telefon klingelt.

Jane:
"Hello."

Der Freund (hastig atmend):
"Honey!"

Jane:
"Yes."

Freund (panisch):
"Honey! You will not believe what just happened. I am appalled!"

Jane:
"What's wrong? Don't tell me you ran over your lunch box again."

Freund (abwertend):
"No. [pausierend] No! I have never ran over... oh nevermind."

Jane:
"Well! What happened? Are you alright?"

Freund:
"They ate my lunch! I just came back to the job site and they ate it all!"

Jane:
"Who ate your lunch?"

Freund:
"The crows!"

Jane:
"You are calling me because the crows ate your lunch? Out of the lunch box?"

Freund (ungeduldig):
"No! Jesus! They just took it."

Jane:
"They kidnapped your lunch box?"

Freund:
"Are you listening at all? I did not have my lunch box with me. Everything was in a bag. The crows came and ate three sandwiches, all my crackers, all my M&M's... my M&M's! The ones with the..."

Jane (unterbrechend):
"...with the nuts! Appalling!"

Freund:
"Yeah! With the nuts! All of them! And the worst of it all: They picked my Dr. Pepper open. I got no lunch. I got no money. I am not happy. And I am hungry."

Jane:
"I am so sorry, honey. Ask Amber if she can give you some money."

Freund (beleidigt):
"No. I'll just starve."

Jane:
"How did you know that crows ate it all?"

Freund:
"I read their foot prints."

Jane holt Eiswürfel aus dem Eisfach.

Jane (erfreut):
"Oh! Your ice cubes fall out so easily! What's up with that?"

Freund (abwesend):
"Uhm."

Jane (lexikonhaft):
"You know, in Germany you have to hammer the box on the counter. Kind of annoying and noisy. The ice hardly comes out."

Freund (triumphierend):
"Well, honey, we Americans have had a long tradition of ice cube making. I reckon you Germans should concentrate less on cars and more on ice."

Jane:
"Oh shut up."
